No Place Like Home
"No Place Like Home" is the title of our new PIPP Grant from the MDH with the main goal or focus for MCHS being to develop/enhance and implement cares, education, resources, and post discharge communication for all of our consumers so they can experience a seamless, successful transition back to home along with the ability to remain at home for as long as possible as there truly is..."No Place Like Home".
Memory Support Center
This cutting edge program offers specialized activities throughout the day to provide opportunities for residents with memory loss to use their existing strengths. This also encourages socialization and connection with others in a meaningful way. Staff is specially trained to work with the residents of this unit.
The exercise program promotes quality of life and is designed to enhance the functional ability of those who choose to participate. It is our belief that exercise has a number of vital benefits in the aging population. Our comprehensive program encourages our residents to stay active, healthy and strong for as long as they can. Lead by a trained Exercise Technician, classes are offered Monday through Friday three times daily. Each class consists of stretching, light weight training, balance exercises, light cardiovascular training and an individual workout including walking or exercising with machines.
"All parts of the body which have a function, if used in moderation and exercised in labors to which each is accustomed, become healthy and well developed and age slowly. But if unused and left idle, they become liable to disease, defective in growth and age quickly."
